Hope House--Bruce & Jan Willson of Mechanic Falls, Maine saw the need to provide care to mothers
in Maine. Eight years they ran Maine's only family foster home specifically licensed for pregnant and
parenting teens and young adults. They called their dream "Hope House." Six other Hope Houses opened
around Maine. Area businesses, churches and individuals provide the financial and volunteer support
that enables Hope House to offer it's various care services.
Root Cellar-The Root Cellar is an interdenominational mission meeting the physical and spiritual
needs of inner-city youth and their families by engaging the Christian community in volunteer
ministries to build relationships that demonstrate the love and hope of the living Jesus Christ
Habitat for Humanity International--builds homes that are sold to families at cost, with O% interest rate loans
and no profit made by Habitat. Mortgage payments help provide the money to build more houses. A
nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization building simple, decent, affordable housing in
partnership with people in need. AHFH has built fourteen houses in the local area since its founding in 1987.
Hope Haven Gospel Ministry-brings Christ to every needy individual while providing: shelter, meals, hope and
recovery 365 days a year to willing clients, to re-enter the world as responsible citizens for Christ.
